Our 141 online courses give you access to FAA tests without the need for an instructor. The courses prepare you for the questions and if you don’t pass, send us a copy of your report and we’ll refund your course fee. The FAA has specific guidelines for all of their tests. For most, you have to be at least 16 years of age, read, write, and speak the English language. Instructors are optional. Because our courses are Part 141, you can complete the course and take the exams without an instructor. You also have access to the Modern Flight community board where you can talk to your peers or ask flight instructors questions directly.

Yes, all courses offer either a graduation certificate (FAA Part 141) or a certificate of completion for all other courses. Many colleges and flight schools will give you credit for passed exam.

The courses can save you money in a few simple ways. First, if you decide to start flying you’ll already have the ground school done on your path to becoming a pilot. Flight schools, and many colleges, will give you credit for this course which can be a huge savings. Second, with these courses you don’t have to pay an instructor for ground school, which usually costs over $50/hour. And finally, the courses are better priced (and more fun) than others out there, go ahead do some google searches and check it out.  

These courses give you the chance to explore aviation before starting a career as a pilot. All the courses are from pilots and FAA qualified flight instructors. The 141 courses are FAA approved, and you can learn anywhere, at your own pace.

Decide if you want to do learn as an airplane pilot or a drone pilot. Then take an “Explorer” course. If you like it and want to become a pilot or professional drone operator, we’ll credit the cost of the Explorer course for a 141 FAA approved course. The courses are based on the FAA, which is the standard everywhere. Aviation is very similar in most every country as aerodynamics and weather theory doesn’t change from country to country. In fact, many of our students are from Asia and Latin America. 

This allows you to fly a drone for commercial purposes. If you use a drone as part of your work, such as a realtor, or for Social Media ads, you need to take the FAA test. The test has 60 questions and the Commercial Drone course will prepare to for them.

Definitely. Schools and Instructors are always looking for ways for their students to improve. These courses help them, help you. If your instructor has any questions, have them contact us directly and we’ll make sure they see everything you’re learning. The courses are valid for individuals, clubs, flight schools, Part 61 and Part 141.

Aviation is an adventurous world, you’re flying a machine through the skies after all. Most non-aviators see the world of aviation as elusive and expensive. Take an “Explorer course” and see if aviation is for you. Go visit a flight school, you won’t know for sure if the pilot life is for you until you get inside an airplane. We think, being a pilot is cool.

There are lots of course and schools out there, some good, some not so good. We encourage you to do some research. Make sure your money is refundable, they have a Part 141 option for at least some courses, and the pricing is comparable. Just do a google search or ask a friend that is a pilot.

You can collect points, play games (gamification) and we are always adding new activities that feel like a video game. 

We try to make them as simple as possible, and clearly show the learning concepts. That said, the 141 courses do require steady learning and focus. We’re here to guide you along your journey. It’s a proud feeling (with bragging rights if you want) to say you’ve learned the knowledge needed to fly an airplane by yourself.

And for those that just want to learn English, this course covers all the general English too. The main point of the course is to help people learn English in a fun way.
